Women – Challenges of the Future Decade 2020-2030

Event date: 9-10th March 2020

In order to celebrate women’s successes in different countries and to reflect upon future challenges, EUNIC Warsaw, the Warsaw University of Economics and the International Women’s Forum on 9-10 March 2020 organized an international conference: „Women and the Challenges of the Future Decade 2020-2030“.

The conference was opened by Rupert Weinmann, director of the Austrian Cultural Forum Warsaw and currently president of EUNIC Warsaw, who underlined that gender equality and the participation of artists in important societal debates are key themes of EUNIC Warsaw’s activities.
During the conference the most important themes concerning women in today’s economy, in art, science and culture were discussed, such as: New Technologies – chance or menace, gender pay gaps, women migrant workers, women entrepreneurship, gender balance in leading positions and in academic careers.  
Speakers included Halina Brdulak, Claire Gooding, Joanna Dobrzyńska-Sobiech, Julya Rabinowich, Bianka Siwińska, Lucyna Kurowska, Ewa Lisowska, Vivienne Hayes, Anna Zachorowska-Mazurkiewicz and Małgorzata Witkowska.

On the eve of the International Women's Day, EUNIC Warsaw together with the renowned Club Jasna 1 in Warsaw organized a EUNIC DJ Night. The event, attended by over 500 guests, featured outstanding European women artists and DJs, such as Susanne Kirchmayr aka Electric Indigo from Vienna, the Ghent-based Nadine Adjani and Berlin local Paramida, who performed together all night along with local talents.
